Pandora Radio App

By itself, I think that Pandora Radio is perhaps one of the most clever and awesome music mediums in my lifetime.  I like the idea that you can design a radio tailored to your own musical taste.  The app is simple to use, and it is easy to create or delete a station.  Due to the streaming component, and the need for a high speed connection, the radio only fails or operates sporadically when you don't have a 3G data connection/reception.

Flicks Watcher App for Android

Flicks Watcher is an App that allows the user to get an up to date list of movies that were added to Netflix Instant.  I used the app, and withing the first five minutes found a movie on netflix that I wanted to watch.  Netflix itself has a search, but no comprehensive list of new movies.  I think the app works very well, and has a great deal of utility.

Scanner App

This scanner app is a radio scanner that monitors local police and fire department scanners to get up to date information about incidents in your area.  It can also get information in another state or county.  The app worked very well, but I see it as one of those apps that is more interesting that useful.

Garminfone Navigation Component

I just wanted to write up a followup review for the Asus Garminfone offered by TMobile.  I recently had a chance to use my phone as a navigation tool while we were in LA.  We had written directions, but did get lost (as we usually do when we take a road trip to los angeles).  All we had to do was enter the address, or search for the location in the google search.  All we had to do was look the location up on a map, and press "go".  It was that easy.  We even used the navigation to find the nearest gas station before we left LA.  I liked the ease of use, and the simplicity of verbal commands.  If we missed a turn, or couldn't complete the direction, the directions were simply readjusted by the GARMIN.  If you don't get the phone, I at least recommend that you get a GARMIN for your vehicle.  A GARMIN makes a trip so much easier.

AndroidVideo App

This is a great application so far!!!!!  There is a great multitude of shows you can watch.  Some Titles include Walking Dead, In Living Color, American Dad, Family Guy, Bones, Burn Notice, CSI, Glee, House, Jersey Shore, Mad TV, Scrubs, Prison Break, Simpsons, South Park, and Trailer Park Boys.

That was the good news, now for the bad news on this app.   There are movies available, but you have to sign up for a membership.  I didn't even sign up, because I already have Netflix.

It is a cool app and I rate it as an 8 out of 10 so far.

PhoneFlix App

This application sucks on my phone.  I successfully downloaded the app, but it doesn't allow me to log into my netflix account.  I am not sure what it does, because it doesn't even work. I looked up other feedback on the internet about the app, and there are some other malfunctions of the application reported by other Android Users.

Garminfone Android Review

First of all, I have to say that I really like the Android format.  After owning a Blackberry phone, and an HTC Windows phone, Android does seem to be superior.  There are several reasons why:
  • Tons of Free Apps on the Android Market
  • Apps are easy to download and few of them have had problems.
  • Free Apps and Games (even the Apps that charge a fee are extremely reasonable).

I have had the phone for three months now, and I would say that the Garminfone is the perfect phone.  This doesn't even include the Garmin Navigation ability.  All you do is plug your phone into the car mount, punch in your destination, and listen for the Garmin Voice.  There is even an App that can record your voice as the Garmin Voice.

I give it a 9.5 out of 10 rating, only because cell phone technology moves so fast that there will be a better Android by the end of the year.
